Inclement Weather on January 10th!
We were very fortunate that the weather slowed down and settled down before it got to us on January 10th. The Emergency Management Agency predicted that the rough weather would hit our area around 3:00 PM. That is when our children are being transported home. The EMA felt that schools should dismiss early to try and avoid this inclement weather during transport time. The tragedy in Enterprise, Alabama last year has taught us that you can never be too careful. Thank you to all the parents who were patient with the staff as things got very busy at the school yesterday afternoon. We found that many of the contact numbers we had on file yesterday were not accurate numbers. Please be sure to update your child's information sheet every time a change is made. This ensures that we are able to get in touch with you in the event of an emergency. I would like to thank the teachers for their extra effort in calling every parent in their classroom yesterday morning. I appreciate all they do for our students.

A special visit from santa!
Santa came to visit Coosada on Tuesday. The children were so excited that he came to see them. We had many volunteers come to help with this special occassion. Thank you to all who made this a special day for these children. Santa is coming back to our school on Thursday to see all the children! Santa spends a whole lot of time at our school - because all our boys and girls have been good all year long.Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa was organized by our PTO this year as a community service. The parents appreciate the opportunity to visit Santa without going to the crowded mall. We had great participation this year and everyone who attended had a great time! Our PTO parents worked very hard to provide this special day for our students. The PTO cooked pancakes and sausage and parents were able to bring their children to see Santa Claus and eat breakfast. Thanks to the PTO for all their hard work. We appreciate our valuable volunteers!

Coosada Play House
We can not thank Lucretia Cauthen Realty,Garner Electric, and all the other businesses that participated in this special project enough for their support of the public schools in Millbrook. I was so pleased to see our community work together to help the schools. The money raised will definitely benefit our students. Thank you Lucretia for this GREAT Idea! Thanks to the businesses who supported the project, and especially thank you to Garner Electric for the donation of the playhouse. I wish you could have seen the children when the playhouse was dropped off. They were very excited and have already had a great time playing in this special house. Millbrook truly is a great community to live in and play in! Happy Holidays!

We are excited about the Holiday Season at Coosada Elementary School. We enter a float into the Millbrook Christmas Parade every year. This year our float won first place!! We had a great turnout of parents to help work on the float and students to ride in the parade. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who helped out with our award winning float. The holidays are such a special time at our school. We have many special projects planned before our Holiday break. Keep checking our blog to see what we have happening at CES!
