2nd Grade Field Trip

Many of our 2nd grade classes went on a field trip to Bama Lanes. They were discussing fractions in Math and were able to relate it real life as they knocked down only a "fraction" of the pins. I wonder if Ms. McGaskill knocked them all down for a STRIKE? It looks like they had a great time on this trip!

PTO February 19th

The Yellow Pods performed this evening and did a GREAT JOB! The PTO discussed the upcoming Spring Fling (April 12th) and expressed a need for volunteers to pull off this special event. If you are interested in volunteering at our Spring Fling please call the school and we will put you in touch with our PTO President. It is always a fun filled event for our children.

The PTO also has artwork items for sale. Your child produced a special piece of art at the beginning of the school year after a study of a famous artist. This artwork has been reproduced on a magnet. The company also offers T-shirts, aprons, coffe mugs.. and the list goes on and on. These will be available at our next PTO meeting in March. We will also hold an Arts Festival April 22nd. This will be the last day to buy your child's special piece of artwork.

January PTO Meeting

The Purple Pods (kindergarten and first grade) did an excellent job at our PTO performance on January 22nd. Our next PTO meeting is scheduled for February 19th and the Yellow Pods will be performing. We invite you to come out and join us!
Items discussed at the meeting:
1. Thanks to Lowe's for the donation of money to improve several areas at our school and their hard work landscaping and building our pavilion! We appreciate all you have done for our children!
2. Thanks to Lucretia Cauthen for her support of our schools through Millbrook Playhouse Project. We were given a check for $10,000.00 on Tuesday morning. All of these funds will be spent on Technology upgrades.
3. Please read your PTO newsletter that is sent home once per month. It lets you know what you can do to help your child's school!
4. We are looking for PTO officers for the 2008-2009 school year. Consider becoming an officer in our PTO!
