Giftwrap Fundraiser

Giftwrap Fundraiser will be ready for pick up on November 17th at 12:00.  Gail will stay until 6:30 that evening if anyone wants to pick it up after school hours.  On Friday morning it will be moved the your child's teachers classroom for pick up.  Thanks for Participating in our school fundraiser!

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is coming up at CES.  It will be held October 24-28th.  A detailed schedule will come out later this week.  It will be sent home in your child's bookbag.  Please check that out and help them participate!  We have PTA tomorrow night, October 18th.  The Purple Pod will be performing.  Hope to see you there!  Thursday is our Student Council Installation at 10:00 AM and Friday we have a Fire Safety Program for our first graders.  Busy couple of weeks ahead for CES!  Join us parents if you can!

Parent Report Day, September 6th

I will conduct two seminars on September 6th to better explain the "No Child Left Behind" Law and our Adequate Yearly Progress status.  I will go over test results and explain our plan to improve our children's scores on the ARMT when they are able to take the test at Airport Road Intermediate School in 3rd grade.  Two sessions so that everyone who would like can attend.  Join us at 2:00 or 6:00 on the 6th!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser starts on SEPTEMBER 7th!!  We will use this money to operate our school and replace worn out computers and other necessary technology!

First PTA Meeting - September 13th!  Please join our PTA!  Pizza sales start at 5:30.  Yellow pods perform at 6:00 PM!!

Shaved Ice

The PE Department will sell Shaved Ice August 26, September 9, September 23, October 6 and October 25.  It is $1.50 and will be sold during PE.  All profits from this sale will lead to the PE department being able to buy more PE equipment.  Thanks for supporting the PE Department.

Read Across America

At Coosada Elementary School reading is the center of everything we do! That is why we consider Read Across America a special week at our school! Please help your children participate in the following days to pump them up for reading!


Monday - Cat in the Hat Day - hats can be worn, and wear your Dr. Seuss T shirt

Tuesday - I am not going to get up Day - wear your pajamas

Reading night on Tuesday - pizza sold at 5:30, Reading at 6, Door prizes given from the book fair

Wednesday - Wacky Wednesday - dress wacky :)

Thursday - Fox in Sox Day - Silly/mismatched Sock day

Friday - Oh the Thinks you can Think - Dr. Seuss costume parade

Teachers are creating themes in their classrooms for Friday's parade. Parade begins at 8:15 AM!! Everyone is invited to come and watch the parade!

Upcoming Events

Just a quick post to remind everyone that FEBRUARY 21st will be a regular attendance day for all of our students.  This is the make up day for the weather day we had to use in early January!

Our PTA Meeting has been changed from Tuesday evening, February 8th to Thursday, February 10th.  Blue pods will be performing!

Join us at Ci Ci's Pizza for Spirit night on Tuesday, Febraury 8th!

Our Book Fair will be open February 28th-March 4th!

Reading Night is scheduled for March 1st!  Join us for some Reading Fun!

Spring Break is scheduled for March 14-18!
